A striking pair of horse-head lamps marked "Kupur" which, according to some sources, is an artistic spelling of Frederick Cooper's last name. In the early 20th century, Cooper started out with sculpture and painting, but then moved to table lamps. Some accounts say he was a Russian immigrant. In any case, he earned a reputation for forward-looking, art-deco style lamps as Cooper Lighting, and these are splendid examples. We believe them to be silver-clad with some other material underneath(ceramic or wood?) but have not had the material tested. We believe this to be from the 40s.
There is some damage to the black paint on the wood bases of both lamps. You can see this clearly in the photos. Both lamps work. They both have shades but it is not known whether they are the original shades. Current ones are dirty and have some damage, as seen in photos.
