This beautiful jar from Charleton is decorated with an Asian design and heavy gold color. It is 9 inches tall and
has a lid. As shown in the pictures there is slight damage to the underside of the lid.
Abels, Wasserberg, and Company purchased blanks from different glass factories, then decorated the glass. These designs were registered under the Charleton trademark. The company was in business for more than 40 years and continued into the 1970s. They also did painting for Fenton glass.
Charleton pieces can be difficult to find and identify. One reason being they used a paper label on the bottom.
This seems to be a fairly rare piece and would be a beautiful part of your Midcentury Modern collection.
