MARY ELIZABETH LONG-SIMPSON
Q: IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, SAY YOU WON THE LOTTERY, WHAT ANTIQUE OR COLLECTIBLE WOULD YOU BUY IMMEDIATELY?
A: If I were to win the lottery, I would invest in art. I would invest in late 19th Century Impressionism from artists like Monet, Renoir and Degas.
Q: WHAT IS THE MOST GORGEOUS ANTIQUE YOU EVER SAW, IN A PRIVATE COLLECTION, OR EVEN A MUSEUM?
A: The most beautiful antique I've ever seen was an ornate, carved sideboard from the 1700s. It was in a mansion of a Russian art dealer in Minneapolis.
Q: WHY ARE ANTIQUES A GOOD INVESTMENT?
A: Yes, antiques are a great investment. Not only do they appreciate in value, but I get great personal satisfaction from having them in my home.
Q: HAVE YOU EVER RECYCLED OR UPCYCLED AN ANTIQUE/VINTAGE ITEM?
A: Yes. I recycle antiques every time I buy and sell them.
